Biography of Srila B.V. Narayana Maharaja

Srila Bhaktivedanta Narayana Maharaja was born in 1921 in Bihar, India, in a village named Tewaripur near the bank of the sacred Ganges River. A self-realized guru in the disciplic succession of saintly masters going back to Lord Krsna Himself, Srila Maharaja is the foremost disciple of his initiating spiritual master Srila Bhaktiprajnana Kesava Gosvami Maharaja, and his instructing spiritual master Srila A.C. Bhaktivedanta Swami Prabhupada, the world renowned preacher of Krsna consciousness.

An erudite scholar of the classic books of transcendental wisdom called the Vedas, Srila Maharaja has translated and published over hundred volumes in Hindi with his own commentaries. His works have been translated into english and other languages, and are providing hundreds of thousands of people with new life and spiritual inspiration.

By his contribute to the research of the Love for God and universal brotherhood, and for his unselfish public service for the benefit and welfare of humanity, in the year 2003 Srila Maharaja was awarded by the title of Yuga Acarya (Master of the Millennium) by the representants of various religions: the members of the Religious Parliament of the World.

Even in his advanced age, since 1996 he travels around the world visiting many countries and continents like America, Australia, Europe, Asia and Africa.

As a compassionate seeker of the spiritual welfare of all he teaches: "To make your life successful, happy and peaceful, try to give all of your love and affection to God, Krishna. Show that love to all living beings, and try to engage your entire being in helping them. One who comes to others with love has nothing to take but everything to give."
